Spirit Attachment

A minority of those who die fail to make the transition successfully. They become what is known as 'earthbound' because they remain mentally attached to the earth plane and so cannot progress. Reasons for this include a traumatic death, concerns over unfinished business or anxiety for a loved on on Earth.

Such earthbound spirits are rarely malicious; mostly they are lost and confused. They may attach to a house or locale with which they were associated in life. so that the house or locale becomes haunted. Such spirits may also be responsibile for poltergeist activity which is their way of drawing attention to their plight.

In some cases an earthbound spirit may attach to a living person. Some of the more common symptoms can be lack of energy, memory disturbance, behavioural change, mood change, addictive behaviour, relationship problems and hearing disturbing voices in their head. There may also be bodily pain and other physical symptoms. The degree of attachment also varies. Some individuals are scarcely affected, while in rare cases the individual's body and mind have been taken over completely.

Spirit Release

Spirit release involves freeing earthbound spirits from their condition of attachment. This is done in a compassionate, non-confrontational way, by contacting the spirits and speaking with them. Spirit helper then move the spirit on to its rightful place in the universe. The person who has been affected by the attachment is also offered healing, counselling or other therapeutic help. The issue of psychic protection is address so that there is a safeguard from any further intrusion.

Spirit release differs from exorcism which attempts to banish the attached spirit by force. Spirit release takes a gentler approach, seeing the intruding spirit as a being in need of help and understanding.

Although spirit release as practised in the west is not part of any religious doctrine, it does invoke the help of higher spiritual beings.

There are broadly two approaches to this subject - the intuitive approach and the interactive approach.

The Interactive Approach
This approach involves putting the client into an altered state of consciousness, through a form of hypnosis and transmits information from the spirit verbally. This information allows help to be brought to the spirit to help it release.
The Intuitive Approach
In the intuitive approach the therapist is in an altered state, as for healing, and uses his/her intuitive (psychic) abilities to communicate telepathically with the spirit and then effect a release.

These approaches share the aim of persuading the attached spirit to go to the Light voluntarily, with angelic assistance. Each approach has its advantages and indications
